A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon
From the moment I saw the cover of this book, I knew I had to have it! So intriguing... so colorful... so confusing? What the heck is a case of the stripes? The stripes, in fact, is what happens to you when you don't do something you love for fear of being ridiculed because it is out of the norm. A wonderfully new way to teach this lesson to children, the illustrations are bold and colorful (and occasionally weird me out). Kids will love this book! I would definitely use this as a read aloud in my classroom.
