Doodler Doodling

Doodler Doodling
by Rita Golden Gelman, illustrations by Paul O. Zelinsky
Suggested for grades 2-4, but I strongly suspect that people of all ages would find this book interesting to look at. Focusing mostly on word-play and doodle illustrations, this book is described as "21 words and a blank piece of paper." The text ends with "Wow," and "Wow" is right! The images are done by Paul Zelinsky, a crazy-award-winning illustrator, and the word play will definitely confuse you by the end. You have to have an active imagination and strong sense of focus to follow the "meaning" of the text, if there even is one. The word play, however, is good practice on repetition of words, enunciation, diction, sounds, and forms of words. I want this book in my own collection!
