Best Best Colors

Best Best Colors
by Eric Hoffman
Great for a multitude of purposes and discussions! This book addresses numerous aspects of diversity and will be a great tool for the classroom. Whether it be family-style, race, ability, or sexual orientation, this book can serve as a prompt for interesting conversation in the classroom. This book may be considered controversial because of the boy's "two mommies" and it's reference to participating in a "Pride Parade," however, this topic is more subtle than obvious and educational rather than pushy. The book also includes a note to parents and educators about how to use the book and discussion prompts about the topics. (Not to mention this book is English and Spanish... great for L2 students to learn English and L1 students' exposure to another language.)

1 comment:

  1. L2 students refers to English Language Learners, or students who are learning English as their second language but first learned to speak another language in the home.
L1 refers to students whose first or primary language is English.
