This book is about a little girl who is friends with a couple of giants that come to play with her sometimes, and it is extremely adorable! With rhythmic lines, natural flow, and illustrations that tell more about the story than words ever could, When Giants Come to Play had me wowed... several times over as I read and reread the book. The author's use of vivid language--unique action verbs, creative adjectives--make this an excellent piece of writing for children. One should not be bored when reading this book, however, I must give it props because it was so musical that it put the 2 year old that I nanny to sleep for naptime! Two giant thumbs up (and the newest addition to my wish list)!
