This is one very pink, very girly book! The illustrations are done in watercolor and ink which I find very adorable. Point out to children the unique way that the illustrator used a pink "orb" when representing the difference between real life and imagination. (One note: I found some content in this book not to be in alignment with good lessons to teach children about acceptable behavior.) The publisher's recommendation is that this book is for children ages 2-5, but I found that the language and use of cursive as the font makes this book far too challenging for children of those ages. I would either use this book with children much older or save this for a lap book or read-aloud.
